LOCAL PRODUCTS AND TRUFFLE
To fully satisfy a clientele who is increasingly attentive to the genuineness and to the origin of the products on the table, our farm produces and sells only organic zero-mile products, rediscovering and returning to the old farming traditions. In fact, since the opened our business, we have been concentrating on the cultivation and the promotion of varieties of legumes related to our crops such as barley, corn, cereals, chickpeas, spelled and lentils that can be purchased directly at the premises but also online. The soil, the vegetation and the climate – all particularly favorable – also allows us to search for and sell excellent and fragrant truffles.

Relais and Farm Perugia Vecchia is surrounded by many olive trees from which we produce an excellent organic extra virgin olive oil. The method we use for cultivation is what organic farming demands: we absolutely avoid chemical fertilizers and pesticides not allowed by the regulations in force in the European Community. The olives are hand-harvested with the help of nets and processed within 12 hours so to preserve the oil qualitative characteristics.

Umbria is also known as an important wine tourism destination and the surrounding hills bear witness to this with the variety and colors that change with the seasons. The morphological characteristics, combined with the climate of this hill area and the ancient local vocation in the cultivation of the vine, make Umbrian wines particularly robust and balanced. In the Bottega del Borgo Perugia Vecchia there had to be a selection of wines including Lustro – Grechetto dell’Umbria and Raffaellesco – Montefalco Rosso.
